The Princeton Tec Byte Tactical is the smallest and lightest headlamp in Princeton Tec's lineup. It weighs 64 g / 2.3 oz, so it fits into even the most stripped-down kit.

There are two LEDs: a white spot and a red light. Each has a high and a low setting, which gives you four modes in total. On high, the white spot puts out 200 lumens and reaches 39 m / 128 ft. The red light keeps your eyes adjusted to the dark, so reading a map or digging through your pack won't leave you blind for the next few minutes.

The lamp runs on two AAA batteries, alkaline or lithium. Run time is anywhere from 3.4 to 140 hours depending on the mode. It's rated IPX4, so rain won't bother it, but don't take it underwater. The slim 3/4" / 19 mm strap keeps the whole setup as compact as the lamp.
